What is prosperity? Is is all about money?

What is prosperity? What is the definition of prosperity? Bing; gives an online definition which says: success – the condition of enjoying wealth, success and good fortune.

In this definition the key words that stands out is enjoying. Prosperity to me is not always about what you have, but rather who you are on the inside. For example, some people are very rich and have it all, yet are still unhappy.

They are not “enjoying” their life. But then there are some who are not so rich, yet are content with what they have and are enjoying their lives. So if I were to ask, what is prosperity, to me those are the prosperous people of the world.

Prosperity shouldn’t always be about “things,” but rather what type of person you were, are and will continue to be because of the certain things you’ve been blessed with. “For all things are yours.” 1 Corinthians 3:21 But, if you’re still never content with what you’re already blessed with then why would God bless you with more.

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content Phillippians 4:11

What you are already doing with the “things” in which you have? Are you a giver? Are you controlled by your fleshly lust of always wanting more?

He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. Luke 16:10

Believe it or not, God is watching how you treat those in need, how you react when you have a lot and even during those times when you’re facing financial hardships.

Let’s face it, there will always be the poor amongst us, but often times it’s the poor who are actually the most prosperous in life, because they’re not fretting over bills, they’re not trying to keep up with the Jones’ by purchasing expensive houses or cars nor do they consume themselves with being someone with whom they are not.

The Law of Attraction as defined by Abraham Hicks states that, "you attract to yourself what you give your attention and energy to, whether wanted or unwanted".

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. Matthew 15:18

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

What is prosperity? It’s whatever you choose to attract, think about or say which will ultimately manifest in your life.

If you haven’t already done so, learn to laugh and laugh often, become a better friend, be kinder, appreciate what you already have and only expect good things to happen in your life. Even when a situation is not favorable, try to find some good in it. When you do this, great things are lining up for you and will begin to live a prosperous life.
