Prosperity - Your God-Ordained Right!
According to the Encarta online dictionary prosperity is defined as: the condition of enjoying wealth, success, or good fortune.
This defintion is a wonderful explaination and exhibits many truths concerning doing well in which both a believer and non-believer could agree on, but now let’s take a look at what the word of God says about this topic.
God has given us a clear road map as to how we should conduct our lives and what we must to in order to live a full life of happiness, joy, peace and success. But it's up to us, to open our bibles and read what he wants to tell us.
”If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.” Job 36:11
”And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved.” Psalms 30:6
”In the day of prosperity be joyful…”Ecclesiastes 7:14
Having success and thriving is not a sin. God’s Word says in 1 Corinthians 3:21, …”for all things are yours.”
God has given us all things which includes success and the ability to flourish. The problem is, many people chase after money and pursue not the things which will further the gospel, but rather the pleasures of the world. This pursuit is not pleasing in the sight of God.
"He who loves pleasure will be a poor man; He who loves wine and oil will not be rich." Proverbs 21:17
Those who are successful and well-to-do can help the poor, they can fund many things in which can reach many people throughout the world, they understand God’s word and who they are.
As a believer refuse to be poor! Refuse to be broke!
As a child of God, it is your God-ordained right to be affluent in this life.
A child of God doesn’t serve money, but rather money is a servant to the believer.
Understand that money is only an illusion, it won’t change you who you are as a person.
Yes, it is okay to be rich. But never fall into the trap of loving money. The bible warns us about this.
”For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10
Someone may ask, “Well what can I do to become successful and well off?”
My first answer is Read, Know and Understand the Word of God. All the answers to such questions are in the Bible. Know God’s will for your life and all things will work in your favor. It’s once you realize who you are that you become rich.
If you own a business, be the best business owner you can be. If you’re a writer, write things which will bring glory to God and if you’re an athlete, work hard and strive for excellence.
”Whatsoever they hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave whither thou goest.” Ecclesiastes 9:10
When you do whatever it is God has called you to do, do it with all your being and might and you will never fail. You can only rise to the top.
”…and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:3
