Benefits of tithing? Fact or Fiction?

Are there really benefits of tithing?

Many may debate this question, but I can truly attest, as well as many others can, tithing gives room for more blessings to happen in your life. IT WORKS!

For years I have been one who has given my tithes to various churches throughout my life, and God honored my faithfulness and still blesses me today for my obedience to his Word.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10

This scripture clearly states when someone brings their tenth percent to the Lord, God's word is able to go forth and be spread throughout the world. When you do this, God will without a doubt shower you with blessings. Blessing in which will overtake you.

The more blessing you have, the more you’re able to continue to bless others and further spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What exactly is tithing?

Tithing is giving ten percent of your wealth or income.

God is so kind and generous, he never asked for your full income. He didn’t even ask for half. He only asked for 10%. The sad thing is many people don’t even want to give Him the mere ten percent. For whatever reason, giving ten percent is next to impossible. But what many people don’t realize is when you withhold from God, blessings are withheld from you.

Yes, at some point in everyone’s life there will come a time when life is good. But when you’re obedient to the Word of God, and you tithe, life is great! When you tithe your life is lived in such a miraculous way, people will marvel at you. They will wonder, what is the secret to your success?

God’s Word does not lie.

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38

Yes, there are benefits of tithes. When you’re faithful in your giving, you will be rewarded generously by God. When you give, expect God’s blessing to overtake you. When you give, bless your gift, present it to the Lord with a willing and excited heart and reap all of what God has in store for you.

Learn to be a cheerful giver!

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

When you give, be one who is excited to give. Be the one who can’t wait until it’s offering time. Be the one who already has his/her offering envelope filled out before even going to church. Be the one God can count on to be faithful to his word. Be the one God showers with blessings.

So if you still question if there are benefits of tithing, my anwser is simply, begin to tithe if you're not going so already and you too will come back with a testimony.
